Resolve what broad products can miss

Nearshore currents, headlands, reefs, bays and river influence can create local conditions that are not represented well by broad-scale products. TerraVerge is developing a regional modelling capability that can be nested and validated for high-resolution applications.

The goal is not a model for its own sake. It is an intelligence source for safety, drift, ecosystem studies, search planning, marine operations and advisory services.

From simulation to operational services

The Kenya configuration has completed a successful 24-hour hindcast on a 24-rank research server and produces three-dimensional currents, sea-surface elevation, temperature and salinity outputs. The next phase strengthens boundary treatment, field validation, longer simulations and forecast-oriented workflows.

OpenDrift integration will translate current and wind fields into particle trajectories for nearshore risk and movement studies.

A modelling framework for data-limited coastlines

The configuration process—domain design, forcing, boundary preparation, numerical validation, field comparison and product translation—can be repeated in other coastal regions.

TerraVerge combines open scientific tools with local validation so institutions can build capability without being locked into expensive proprietary systems.

Adapt this intelligence to your coastline, landscape or institution.
